I’m thrilled to guide you through the process of creating a captivating watercolor painting of a silverback gorilla. Gorillas are awe-inspiring creatures that have a majestic presence, powerful personalities, and impressive demeanour. They often emanate an aura of strength and curiosity.

In this lesson, we will delve into the process of capturing the beauty and essence of this remarkable creature on paper. We will use loose brushstrokes to create a dynamic and expressive painting that showcases the gorilla’s unique character and charisma. We’ll experiment with various techniques, including wet-on-wet, wet-on-dry and layering, to infuse our artwork with depth, texture, and intrigue. Additionally, we’ll incorporate abstract elements and doodles to infuse our paintings with a sense of playfulness and spontaneity.
